In some versions of Windows Server, when configured with the IP Failover, entering the netmask (255.255.255.255) will give an error, and stop "255.255.255.0" temporarily.

Subsequently, follow these steps to change the netmask via the registry editor:

click "Start" -> "Run"
Enter "regedit" and confirm

In the tree HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \, find the key "SubnetMask" with value "255.255.255.0" and change it to the value "255.255.255.255"

The server will now be configured correctly with the proper values.
