What is Chive


Chive is a next generation MySQL database management tool. The web-based user interface supports most of the common operations needed by software developers and database admins (databases, tables, indices, keys, triggers, views, routines, privileges management, import/export).

Chive aims to be an alternative to phpMyAdmin

Installation on Linux

If you are using Linux, there is a very simple way to install Chive. Just run the following command to download and extract

wget -O -  http://launchpad.net/chive/trunk/0.2.0/+download/chive_0.2.0.tar.gz|tar  -xzp

This command will download Chive 0.2.0 and extract it into a directory named "chive". All relevant file/directory privileges are stored in the tarball
