IBSng Quick Installation Guide

I. Downloading
Latest version can be downloaded from IBS | Welcome!

II. Extracting
Extract the bz2 tarbal in /usr/local/. A sample Command can be

tar xjf IBSng-alpha-2005-02-27.tar.bz2 -C /usr/local

III. Change pg_hba.conf
You should allow IBSng to connect postgresql database. It's done by changing pg_hba.conf located in
normally in /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_hba.conf.

For example, if database and ibs are on same box and you want to allow everyone on localhost to
connect to IBSng database without password, put this line on --TOP-- of pg_hba.conf.

local IBSng ibs trust

You must restart postgresql service after changing pg_hba.conf.(ex. service postgresql restart)

NOTE: if /var/lib/pgsql directory is empty, try starting postgresql service, and it will
initialize database.


IV. Creating Postgresql Database/User
IBSng, database name is IBSng and default user is ibs.

Try these commands if you don't plan to do an special install.

su - postgres
createdb IBSng
createuser ibs
createlang plpgsql IBSng

V. Run setup.py script
run /usr/local/IBSng/scripts/setup.py
These are options you should choose if you want an straight install.
1 Install
2 Test DB Connection and Continue
2 Compile Configuration and Continue
1 Import Tables and Continue
Enter System password
1 Copy ibs.conf to '/etc/httpd/conf.d'
2 Chown apache directories to 'apache'
5 Continue
1 Copy logrotate Conf to /etc/logrotate.d
3 Continue
1 Copy Redhat init file to /etc/init.d
2 Set IBSng to start on reboot
b Back to main menu
x Exit

None of above stages should report ERROR on log history.

VI. Reload apache
service httpd reload


VII. Run IBSng
either by "service IBSng start" or "/usr/local/IBSng/ibs.py"

IX.
Now fire up a browser and go for http://ibs_server_ip/IBSng/admin
