1)When you buy a VPS the seller gives you 4 things:
a)IP address of VPS (the address that you can use it for connecting to the server.)
b)SSH port (default port is 22 but you can change it later , It is better to change it because of security reasons )
c)User name (most of the times it is "root" , with "root" user you can access to all parts of the server.)
d)Password (It is better to change it to a hard one )
2)Download & Installing Putty:
Putty is one of the best SSH client Apps for windows.
