To avoid any firewall restrictions when trying to access the WebsitePanel portal, or when uploading files via FTP, or even when sending or receiving email, we'll need to create new rules in Windows Firewall.

Ingredients

5. We will begin with a rule that will allow you access to the WebsitePanel portal from any internet-connected web browser. On the first step of the wizard, click the radio button for “Port”; then click “Next.” http://media.newtektechnologyservices.com/websitepanelcookbook/images/ch5/5-5.gif

6. Select “Specific local ports:”, and then enter port number “9001”. Then click “Next.” http://media.newtektechnologyservices.com/websitepanelcookbook/images/ch5/5-6.gif

10. To open a port for SMTP traffic, click “New Rule…” again, then follow the above directions to create a rule for port 25. http://media.newtektechnologyservices.com/websitepanelcookbook/images/ch5/5-4.gif

11. Now we will create a rule for Filezilla. This time, however, instead of a port, we will be creating a rule for the program.
